Weah Addresses Nation On Critical Socio-Economic Challenges, Outlines Way Forward

President George M Weah on Wednesday, May 29, delivered a much anticipated nationwide address to an anxious Liberian public, announcing several planned policy actions he said will bolster the country’s challenged economic situation and put the nation on a better trajectory of peace, economic development and stability.

The President’s address comes only a week to the much-talked-about Council of Patriot’s “Save The State” planned “peaceful” protest on June 7 during which organizers say they will present a petition to the President on the governance of the country they claim is not being governed properly.

The President, in his address, among others, gave green light to the COP to stage its peaceful protest in line with Article 17 of the Liberian Constitution, assuring that they would be protected and defended. Continue reading…
